A Cornus sanguinea/Common Dogwood bonsai that I collected in 2018 from The Hill; a very rare finding of a dogwood that has formed a solid, thick trunk rather than being a stand of 100's of suckers! This specimen has a heavy trunk and is possibly over 100 years or more, having grown in harsh conditions in the hills.
Native to the UK, C. sanguinea is easy to look after and fast growing. It flowers and fruits freely as can be seen in these images.
This is a substantial tree. The overall height of the Dogwood is 29"/74cm with an overall width of 25"/63cm.
The tree is planted into an unmarked Chinese ceramic pot.
This is a very reluctant sale but unfortunately I have run out of room in my garden and need to clear some space.
PLEASE NOTE: it is important to understand that the vast majority of the branch structure emerges from a single point at the back of the trunk (see image 5). Unfortunately, Dogwood will only backbud on their trunks from very specific points and the unusual build of the branch structure has been essential. This is why the tree is valued at a much lower price than if it had a more conventional branch structure. It is not possible to change.
As with all bonsai available on the bonsai4me.com/shop, this tree has been treated with Danu from ProBio Carbon to encourage disease resistance and bushier, better distributed growth habit.
Price: just £545.00 to customers in the UK only. Please note I cannot export live plants outside the UK. These trees can be secured by 30% deposit. Please e-mail Harry@Bonsai4me.co.uk.
